Hi, I'm Kris.

A proper portfolio site is coming soon. There's a little bit of a teaser below though.

I'm a software developer from Reading, in the UK.

I volunteer with, and tailor my work towards local institutions like charities and businesses that make a genuine difference to their community.

The institutions I work with may struggle with the scope and due diligence involved in building their own web application or in some cases, may not be in an industry where they're able to maximise profits. They may simply not have the skillset to learn something low-cost like Squarespace either (nor have the time to start).

I work with a sophisticated development stack.

If the budget or the complexity of the application itself necessitates it, I'll revert to a clean WordPress build (primarily using Gutenberg and a select set of trusted plugins).

If the application demands that little bit more, my tools of choice revolve around Filament.

Filament

Filament is a fantastic framework that allows for rapid and accurate development of Laravel applications.

I leverage Filament in my personal projects, to build out feature-rich applications that use my own custom touches (bespoke fields that talk to external services, for example).

Laravel

Laravel is potentially the most important and powerful application framework around at the moment.

There isn't a whole lot Laravel can't do. In essence, it's only really limited by the amount of care the developer is putting into it. That's why I only choose projects I have an emotional investment in.

Livewire/AlpineJS

Tasteful application of frontend tricks without overloading or overcomplicating the experience.

I have extensive experience with events, state and lifecycle management. Wrapped up neatly in a bow representing a clean implementation of Livewire v4.

TailwindCSS

Beautiful user interfaces brought about with identical methodologies from project to project.

I have a very long and fruitful relationship with building out clean, Tailwind-led user experiences. They're clean, performant and always mobile-first.

You may need to get in touch to see my CV.

My history is largely as a developer within organisations that are protective of who's known as the real author behind their projects.

As my personal GitHub develops throughout 2026, this should begin to take prominence. You're welcome to send me an email and I will happily share my CV with you.

I'll be happy to work with you.

I have a couple of rules though.

Please don't get in touch with me if you're looking for a volunteer or low-cost option to make you rich. I need to see what you're doing and I need to believe your project is going to make a genuine difference to the people in your community and not just to your own pockets. I'm also only considering work in the Reading, Berkshire area at the moment.
